Their debut single ‘Pink Skies’ was released in the autumn of 2011 with trombonist Bojidar Vasilev writing the song’s music and lyrics. Three remixes of ‘Pink Skies’ were also released, by DJ Ilko, WahTony and Marin Bozev.
In 2012 Southwick joined Music Clinic Records and released their debut album ‘Flesh and Funk’ with the label. The release includes 13 original compositions, created by the band as a team effort.
In 2013 Southwick began blending their characteristic funk sound with hip hop beats and jazz elements. This same year they released ‘2 You’ – the first single from Southwick’s upcoming second album. In 2014 the band made a special tribute to legendary producer of 90’s hip hop and modern funk J Dilla. Many Bulgarian musicians joined Southwick for the event – Spens, Beloslava, Michael Flemming, Dessi Andonova, Nikolay Danev, Jahmi Youth, Kin Dread and Antony Rikev (WahTony).
