This year the world celebrates 100 years since the birth of Ella Fitzgerald. There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard her name and her voice. Ella is one of the greatest treasures in the history of jazz – a favorite of millions of people and several generations, inspiring role model for many artists who used her works as a source of ideas and new directions. Ella – the Queen of jazz we all love. This is why Plovdiv Jazz Fest presents the special project of Hilda Kazassyan and JP3 “A smile for Ella”.

Hilda comments on the upcoming concert: “I’m infinitely thankful to Miroslava Katsarova for the pleasant challenge to create a completely new concert program, dedicated to my most most most favorite singer whose songs [my parents] played to put me to sleep as a girl. We will play some of the most popular and emblematic standards with special new arrangements for Plovdiv Jazz Fest, made by Jivko Petrov, Hristo Yotsov and Vesselin Vesselinov – Eko.
We will be on stage with the astonishing musicians of the JP3 (Jivko Petrov, Vesselin Vesselinov-Eko and Dimitar Semov) and the extraordinary Mihail Yosifov.”
